If you have visible signs of sun damage, you may have tried a variety of solutions to help fade the appearance of hyperpigmentation, brown spots, and even wrinkles and fine lines. While they may have provided short-term benefits, the truth is that if you’re looking for long-term solutions, you may need a little more help.
So when it comes down to it, what’s the best way to fade sun damage?
Fade Sun Damage with Chemical Peels
A chemical peel remains one of the best ways to treat sun damage, as it uses a medical-grade chemical solution to effectively “peel” away the top layers of the dermis that show the most sun damage.
At Ageless Beauty Center, we use Glytone Peels to deliver exceptional results for patients with visible signs of sun damage.
Am I a Good Candidate for Chemical Peels?
You’re a good candidate for chemical peels if you have obvious signs of sun damage, like hyperpigmentation, wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin tone, and more. Chemical peels are good for all skin types and tones, although it works best on patients with fair and medium skin tones.

What Kind of Downtime Should I Expect?
There definitely is downtime with chemical peels, as these medical-grade treatments can cause redness, peeling, and (eventually) scabbing. While these side effects are all signs that the peel is working to reveal newer and younger-looking skin, it can be tough for patients to go out in public while their skin is healing.
For that reason, we usually recommend that patients take some time off from work once their skin starts peeling and scabbing. Most individuals can expect to take about three to five days off from work. If you have the opportunity to work remotely, you may want to schedule your chemical peel at a time when you can work from home.
