The treatment is surprisingly simple: Dermaplaning is performed by a licensed technician with a 10-gauge surgical scalpel; the fine blade is held at a 45-degree angle and lightly skims the skin’s surface. The process is quick, painless, and delivers immediate results.
In order to prepare for the procedure, you’ll need to arrive at your session with completely clean, makeup-free skin. Throughout the 45-minute session, your Ageless Beauty technician will use a surgical scalpel to remove the top layer of the epidermis. As a last step, your skin will be nourished with moisturizing serums to help enhance the appearance of your newfound complexion.
There’s no recovery time associated with dermaplaning; in fact, you’ll be able to continue with your normal routine directly after the procedure. However, it’s important to note that you’ll need to protect your skin with 30 SPF sunscreen, as your new skin will be sensitive to sunlight and prone to hyperpigmentation. You also might see some redness; this can be covered with makeup and usually disappears after a day or two.
